Hi, I'm Jules. I’m a humanistic therapist and a strong proponent of client autonomy. This means I'll always put your needs first and you’ll stay in control of your treatment from beginning to end. I'll encourage you to set goals and lead our sessions, but I’ll also be there whenever you need extra support, insight, or guidance.
Due to the flexible nature of therapy, unforeseen issues may arise but, if they do, we’ll tackle them together. When uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or traumatic events become difficult to articulate, I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll move forward at your comfort level and pace. I’ll listen to you with an attentive, open mind; with patience, and understanding, and I'll always treat you with respect.
I specialise in helping people who have friends or loved ones who are suffering with issues around various substance dependencies/addictions. But I can also help the dependant person confront the underlying reasons for their addiction and engage them with multiagency assistance should they need that extra help. Additionally, I can help with burnout, compassion fatigue, PTSD, the different types of domestic abuse, anger management, depression, and anxiety.
My practice predominately utilises the humanistic (listening/talking) approach with integrated aspects of the psychodynamic method, and CBT. Together, we can do the work, and I’ll try my best to ensure that our time together leaves you feeling more independent, empowered, and self-confident.
